Hello John, I am researching my family tree. My Great Grandmother was Jane Sisson who was born in Redmaine in Cumberland C1879. Her father was William who was born in Deanscale, Cumberland C1854. I decided that before I travelled to Cumbria to discover further family members I would look at the Censuses to discover the most likely family members. In the 1861 Census, the most likely match was William Sisson born in 1854 in Shelton, Cumberland. His parents were Joseph and Elizabeth Sisson. Joseph was born C1831 in Temple Sowerby in Westmorland. This appears to be the same Joseph Sisson who appeared in the 1841 Census as being born C1830 in Westmorland. In the 1841 Census Joseph’s parents were William and Hannah both born C1801. When I found your web site, although my relative Joseph does not appear, I noticed that the rest of the family is very similar. I was wondering where you got your information so that I could look to see if Joseph also appears. |
